The plight of muslims in India

                                             The biggest minority comprising  14.2% of the country's population or roughly 172 million people are not somebody who goes unheeded in the world's biggest democracy. Still most of the Muslim people in India live under poverty are being exploited by the politicians and communal leaders alike. As many politicians of India sworn allegiance to be secular to the constitution of India, still many of them represents a group of people in India's vast communal and caste nexus. The plight of India Muslims has started in Indian subcontinent, we can say, since the advent of west in India. During the establishment of administration,  the educated high caste Hindus, who are less orthodox, who could able to assimilate themselves in the courts of Muslim rulers were also successful in the same way with the British. Their openness to  learn anything and the flexibility to adopt and assimilate any culture and religion into it provided a great advantage in bringing them authoritative positions in British Raj. Islamic religion being more orthodox compared to Hindu religion, failed to secure their position in British administration. This differences in the positions in the society among Hindus and Muslims, thought the reason being a very different one, cast as Hindus oppression over minority religion in India. The Muslim intelligentsia who could able to see through the real problem tried to mobilize the Islam of Indian subcontinent  into more modernized society in order to assimilate themselves into this rapid changing world were openly criticized by the religious heads. This lack of assimilation of other cultures into orthodox Islam has brought a big gap in the spread of scientific and political thoughts into the Muslim masses. Though we can say now that the situation has little changed, but sill the cannons of the religion which has disrupted through unity with coreligionists Hindus and other minorities of Indian society during partition and resulted in bloodbath. Since then, Islam in India have been exploited by every political opportunists, internal/external insurgent groups, communal leaders and external terrorist forces alike. This position can be well affiliated to the lack of proper education and spread of poverty among the Muslim masses. The fundamental thing which has caused the division of Indian into three pieces, the notion of being oppressed, is still lingering in the minds of the Indian Muslims. Mr Md Ali Jinnah, who has sworn that he word build a country of paradise for Muslims which became Pakistan and Bangladesh couldn't even compare itself with another communal country Israel for Jews. What they significantly achieved for the better life of common Muslim citizen is so less when compared with their situation in United India. Now, Pakistan has become a paradise for Muslim elite and a hell for minority groups. Recent well known surveys provide evidence for it. Still they are trying to get the better out of Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir. When we ask what they going to do that India can't when it is merged with Pakistan. The lack of development in the J&K is largely due to the presence of Pakistan insurgents and  terrorists organization in that region. Though huge sums of money is being allocated gradually for the development of the region, They are being thwarted by the insurgent groups present in there. The local people aid them in the name of religion losing their nationhood. 

The mistreatment of Muslims at different places and false prejudice spreading all over is not just born out of air. It came down from history and facts that are happening all around the world. In the name if Islam, most of the Muslims can't keep away their religion in the need of brotherhood and nationhood. When the brothers are same religion are tarnishing the name of religion, it is the responsibility of a Musalman to come out of it and prove that we are different and what they are doing is not in the name of our religion. How many rallies and demonstrations we can see the Muslims against terrorism in this world? Does this imply that most of the Muslims support terrorism and you are one of them? or others have to think, terrorist wear a different face other than appearing as a Muslim  and scream Al-Jihadul Akbar? Yes, people have every right to be afraid of you if they want and be prejudice and lays a responsibility of a Musalman to prove it as wrong. In the democratic India where still Muslims and Hindus and all other religions live under harmony, few people like All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen and Student Islamic moment of India and several other communal groups still propagating about the differences among the Muslims and they are denied rights in Indian Instigating hatred among Muslims towards other religions. What they are not preaching is the fundamental pragmatic solutions for  economic development of a Muslim. What most of the welfare parties in India standing for Muslims teach is religion, differences, oppression, rebellion. If it is not that and they genuinely try for the development and welfare of the community, their teaching would be something different from what is their religion. We still wonder the emergence of radical communal leaders among Indian Islam and no wonder other religion people feel apprehensive of them after they watch those communal meeting in television channels and think, what will happen when the Muslims in out neighborhood get provoked by it and turn into a terrorist. In this democratic country where people are given right to ask what they need, should be done in more constitutional manner, and given the opportunity should develop in every section of society. They should come out from what it defines them as separate community and live aloof from other sections of society. They should see beyond religion what defines them. I know Mr Azim Premji since a decade as a great personality but not more than two days ago, I came to know about his religion. Don't show what will create difference among you and your neighbor. Though others show difference you should always grow to be human. Being a part of religion is not really an identity, it is just faith that lies inside which defines you to yourself. It doesn't needed to be shown out extravagantly to define yourself and your faith cause others are doing it. Shed what separates you from your neighbor. If you become one among others, may it be poor or rich, we all live in unity and peace.
